Art Alliance 2010 Art Camps
Art Alliance Art Camps are held in the Greensboro Cultural Arts Center, 200 N. Davie Street, in downtown Greensboro, in Studios 127 & 129, located on the first floor of the Greensboro Cultural Center. Camp instructors are all educated artists/instructors. Art Alliance camps are offered to specific age groups each week, with age appropriate projects.
All campers should bring a snack, full day campers should also bring a bag lunch for supervised lunchtime. Please inquire about discounts for multiple all day weeks, or siblings attending all day weeks together. Class size is limited for all camps. Pre registration is required. Garden Art
Take your art into the great outdoors! We’ll make flower pots, bird houses, garden flags, wind chimes, stepping stones and more. Make your garden a work of art and let your creativity grow wild!
Drawing, Painting & Pottery, 1:00-5:00
Students will do it all- half the class will be drawing and painting projects, half the class will work in clay. Be sure to bring a snack- having fun is hard work. All pottery will be glazed and fired.
Cost: $120
Students work with a variety of dry media: pencil, colored pencil, chalk and oil pastel, charcoal, marker. Painting may include watercolor, ink, tempera, acrylic. Session 1: A Graphic Storybook
Graphic Art Story Book: There's more than one way to tell a story. Tell it with paint, ink, and graphite! Students can create the next superhero, illustrate their favorite book, or make a cartoon for the funny pages. In addition to exercising their drawing and painting talents, students will also learn basic plot structure and character development while strengthening communication skills.
Session 2: Mixed Media
Artists in this class will use paints, found objects, papers and more to create artwork that employs many techniques- build on what you know, develop a new way to use it!
New Class for Homeschool: Cultural Discoveries

Discover the crafts of unique lands and their artists while learning more about your world. Students will create tea bowls, masks, sand paintings, baskets, x-ray drawings, molas and more. With each country studied, students will make a traditional craft.

Textile arts for youth- weaving, sewing, felting and more! Learn how to warp a loom, sew a piece of artwork, spin and dye wool, and quilt! It’s a great way to get started in the textile world and design your own crafts.

- Attend music, art, and dance classes nearly three times as frequently
- Participate in youth groups nearly four times as frequently
- Read for pleasure nearly twice as often
- Perform community service more than four times as often

Art Alliance classes are held on schedule when the Greensboro Cultural Center is open. If conditions are not deemed safe the building will close and classes will not be held. Afterschool classes will follow the Guilford County School cancellation schedule.
